Pia Facchini

Study: Animation
Studying at L’Idem

Pia is a 1st year student of Animation at L’Idem Barcelona. She got to know the school’s formative proposal at the 2017 Open Day and, since then, every year she has attended this information day to be updated about our academic programs.

In October 2020 she started her Animation degree at our center.

HOW WAS YOUR FIRST YEAR AT L’IDEM?

The course went very well! I am very happy with my first year at the school.

WHAT DID YOU THINK YOU WERE GOING TO LEARN WHEN YOU ARRIVED AND WHAT HAVE YOU ACTUALLY LEARNED?

I thought I was only going to learn the basics of animation, but I’ve learned so much more! How to design characters, anatomy, how to draw a scene… So many things that I know will help me a lot in the future.

WHAT ARE THE SUBJECTS YOU HAVE ENJOYED THE MOST?

The subject I enjoyed the most was Visual Arts. I had a great time doing the projects that the teachers proposed. I also really enjoyed the sculpture project.

AND WHAT DO YOU VALUE MOST OF THESE NINE MONTHS STUDYING WITH US?

My progress, without a doubt. In these nine months of training at L’Idem I have improved a lot in drawing and animation. My evolution throughout this course has been progressive and I am very happy.

WHAT AREAS WOULD YOU LIKE TO DELVE INTO NEXT YEAR?

The truth is that I really want to continue working on 2D animation, how to express emotions with body and face movements.

WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO STUDY AT L’IDEM?

My choice is due to the fact that L’Idem is the only university whose training in Animation is not focused on just one path or specialty. Rather, throughout your training, it allows you to experiment and decide on a specialization based on practice.

LAST QUESTION: WOULD YOU RECOMMEND L’IDEM TO SOMEONE WHO IS THINKING OF STUDYING ANIMATION?

Of course, studying at L’Idem is worth it! Because not only does it allow you to explore the area of learning that you like, but it shows you all the career options that the world of Animation has to offer. You may even decide on a path you never suspected you’d like.
