Edgar Ajenjo

Study: Animation
Promotion: B-Water Animation Studios

For his 4th year internship, Edgar Ajenjo has chosen the studio B-Water Animation Studios, which produces 2D and 3D animated series for television. After a first contact with the studio during the International Animation Summit 2020, he has joined their team for an internship. “I learned about B-Water’s work at L’Idem International Animation Summit 2020. And, as soon as I could, I contacted them to do my internship there,” defines Edgar.

HOW DID YOU GET HERE?

I met B-Water during L’Idem International Animation Summit 2020, an event that connects companies and professionals with students in their final year at the school. During the event, I was able to learn about the projects they work on and I found them very interesting. So, as soon as I had a chance, I contacted them for an internship. Thanks to the Summit, since June I have been working as a Fixing 3D Animator at B-Water.

WHAT DOES YOUR WORK AT B-WATER CONSIST OF?

I am currently in the fixing apartment. My job consists of reviewing the different plans that have been made and fixing the errors they contain. It’s a pretty relaxed job. Also, by seeing shots made by other animators, I learn new ways of animating.

WHAT ARE YOU FINDING MOST USEFUL FROM WHAT YOU’VE LEARNED AT SCHOOL?

Honestly, I’m using everything I’ve learned in school. What I value most is the advanced mastery of Maya software and the ability to work in a team.

HOW IS YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH THE TEAM?

Although I am currently working remotely, from home, I have felt very welcome to the B-Water team. We are in contact at all times and, whenever we have any doubts, we help each other to solve them.

HOW HAS YOUR EXPERIENCE BEEN?

The experience is perfect! It’s a pity I couldn’t go to work in the studio because of the confinement. Even so, I’m learning a lot as a professional.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR 4 YEARS OF TRAINING AT L’IDEM?

My training at the school has been fantastic. Thanks to L’Idem I have discovered 3D Animation, a sector that I am passionate about. My training at the school has allowed me to become a professional capable of working in this industry.

WHERE AND IN WHAT POSITION WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE WORKING IN FIVE YEARS?

Well, the truth is that I don’t know. I would like to be in a nice project, with a team where I feel comfortable.
