Alexandre Galup

Study: Design
Promotion: Buzzman

In his third year of studies at L’Idem, Alexander interned as an assistant Art Director at Buzzman. Created in 2006, this independent advertising agency specializes in the creation of innovative concepts.

In the area of Graphic Design Alexandre has found a way to express his creativity and motivation. From his time at the school he highlights “the value of the projects developed and the ability to work in a team”.

COULD YOU TELL US HOW YOU GOT AN INTERNSHIP AT BUZZMAN?

At the end of my internship at Marcel World Wide advertising agency, I decided to stay in Paris to study and live. I started sending applications to my favorite agencies and, from Buzzman, Raphael Ghisalberti contacted me. After reviewing my application and portfolio, he offered me an interview to join Buzzman.

CAN YOU TELL US WHAT YOUR JOB CONSISTS OF?

A lot of things! The best thing is that they give me the confidence to participate in the projects and the freedom to propose my ideas. So, in a brief I have the opportunity to propose my knowledge as Art director assistant, my current position, as well as several ideas, such as scripts and so on.

WHAT DO YOU FIND MOST USEFUL FROM WHAT YOU HAVE LEARNED AT SCHOOL?

The work methodology at L’Idem: reproducing the real work environment of an agency and taking risks. The fact of carrying out creative projects in real time -both in design and concept- is what I’m finding most useful. As my Creativity teacher at L’Idem, Guido del Solar, has always said, “there are no problems, always solutions”.

HOW IS YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH THE TEAM?

My relationship with the team is very good. I’m working with a team of creatives, an Art Director and a Copywriter. And I’m learning a lot from all of them. Because of the current situation I haven’t had the opportunity to get to know the whole agency, but I hope to be able to do it someday.

HOW HAS YOUR EXPERIENCE BEEN?

It’s crazy! At Buzzman I’m doing everything I wanted to do in the advertising world. It’s been a very rewarding experience, both professionally and personally.

NOW THAT YOU ARE ABOUT TO GRADUATE, HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR 3 YEARS OF TRAINING AT L’IDEM?

Creativity, autonomy and a lot of love with my class of International Digital Designer at L’Idem.

WHERE AND IN WHAT POSITION WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE WORKING IN FIVE YEARS?

I would like to be an Art Director in a team, working hand in hand with a copywriter in a creative agency.
