For yet another year, L’Idem teachers and students will attend Annecy 2023, the most important International Animated Film Festival in Europe, which will celebrate its 62nd edition from June 11 to 17.
As every year, Annecy will have exclusive conferences and Masterclasses on the latest animation releases, meetings with professionals in the sector and emerging talent, recruitment sessions with the big companies in the sector, among many other activities.

The strong point are the feature films and short films that are presented in competition in the different categories and that are classified in the different categories: feature films, short films, films produced for television and commercials, films for students, films for the Internet or long films counterchamp. Tribute to Mexican animated films
As it was revealed a few months ago with its poster, designed by the animator and director, Jorge R. Guti茅rrez. But this year, there will also be conferences such as the one by Guillermo del Toro and a program of projections and activities that will reflect all the particularities of Mexican animation.
The Work-in-Progress section will present the film Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires, a film that pays homage to Aztec culture.
The major studios present their productions
Among the main activities of the Annecy International Animation Festival, you will be able to see some firsts such as the following:
- You will be able to see the first versions of the concept art of Teenage Mutant Ninja by Jeff Rowe and Seth Rogen.
- Genndy Tartakovsky, creator of Hotel Transylvania, will present his new film Fixed.
- Netflix the second part of its animated film Chicken Run.
- Dreamworks will screen Ruby, the Teen Kraken and the first images of Trolls 3.
- Illumination will present its new feature film Migration.
- Pixar will present in Annecy its new animated film: Elemental and the first images of its first original series: Win and Lose.
Mifa 2023
From June 13 to 16, the Annecy International Animated Film Market (MIFA) will take place. This unavoidable event that starts as a meeting point for professionals in the sector, expands its space with 10,000 m2 and with a new space: The Campus, intended for students and talents that will be operational on the days that the festival.
Exhibitors, distributors, producers, artists or investors come together in this space to carry out networking and this year the 6 presentations from six main companies that will present their news stand out: Mediawan , Disney, AnimFrance, France T茅l茅visions, M6 and CANAL +.
