L’Idem attends the 63rd edition of the Annecy International Film Festival 2024

L’Idem Creative Arts School is once again present at the Annecy Festival< /strong> 2024, the International Animated Film Festival, the most important in Europe and which celebrates its 63rd edition from June 9 to 15.

As every year, Annecy will have exclusive conferences and Masterclasses on the latest animation releases, meetings with professionals and emerging talent, recruitment sessions with the largest companies in the sector, among many other activities.

Furthermore, this year the Festival has the pleasure of hosting numbers of highly talented French and international filmmakers such as Wes Anderson (Fantastic Mr. Fox, Isle of Dogs em>, The French Dispatch); Alain Chabat (Astérix et Obélix: le Combat des chefs); Jérémy Clapin (Pendant ce temps sur Terre); Richard Curtis (Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, Nothig Hill, Four Weddings and a Funeral), the composer Alexandre Desplat or the designer Jean-Paul Gaultier.

 

Spanish productions in the Official Section of the Festival

The strong point are the feature films and short films that are presented in competition in the different categories and that are classified in the different categories: feature films, short films, films produced for television and advertising, films for students, films for the Internet or feature lengths. This year, Spanish production has a strong presence at the festival. We highlight the animated feature film Rock Bottom, produced by Alba Sotorra, and directed by director María Trenor. The film participates in the Official Section in competition and, in addition, about twenty L’Idem students have participated in the project.

On the other hand, the film Black Butterflies, an animated feature film directed by David Baute and co-produced by Tinglado Film and Ikiru Film, will participate in the Contrechamp section of the festival. Some L’Idem students have also participated in this feature film. David Baute’s project will compete alongside the film The Sultana’s Dream directed by director Isabel Herguera.

 

L’Idem Barcelona present at MIFA

From June 11 to 14, the Annecy International Animated Film Market (MIFA) takes place. This unmissable event starts as a meeting point between professionals in the sector: exhibitors, distributors, producers, artists and investors meet in this space to carry out networkingand, this year, L’Idem Barcelona It will be located at the stand Stand A.63 within the MIFA premises. There you will be able to learn more about the program of the new International Master of Japanese Animation, unique in Europe, and which will open its first edition starting in September 2024.

Annecy Festival is the largest international animated film market that brings together around 13,000 professionals in the sector and around 3,000 companies to promote this sector.
