‘Missing Link’ wins Golden Globe for Best Animated Feature Film

‘Missing Link’ took home the Golden Globe for Best Animated Film 2020 at the 77th edition of the contest. In this category, the film competed with productions such as ‘Frozen II’, ‘Toy Story 4’ and ‘The Lion King’. “I’m surprised,” said Chris Butler, the film’s director, when accepting the award. “Thank you all for making it possible.”

Produced by Laika Entertainment and Walt Disney, ‘Missing Link‘ is a stop-motion animated adventure film. It tells the story of Mr. Link, a thick-furred, eight-foot Yeti who gets tired of living a lonely life and decides to make friends. On the way he will meet an explorer named Sir Lionel Frost and an adventuress named Adelina Quincena. Together they will live endless adventures to find Link’s relatives, who are lost in the legendary valley of Shangri-La.

Releasing in 2019, the film grossed $16.6 million at the US box office and around $9.5 million worldwide
