Sound Designer Jordi Arqués speeches at a master class at L’Idem Barcelona

Sound Designer Jordi Arqués, known from movies like ‘Para entrar a vivir’ by Jaume Balagueró or developer of the new Dolby 3D audio system, has visited the school to lead a master class for our students in 2D-3D Animation Design and Audiovisual & Film Design

You can link many things to Jordi Arqués: Sound Designer, re-recording mixer for movies, television and publicity, independent sound manager, engineer, professor of sonology at the ESMUC … that is why we talk about a real all-round professor in the area of sound. He has much experience due to his collaborational background as external consultor en electroacoustic projects in the Gran Teatre del Liceu or the auditorium in Barcelona, as well as audiovisual production tales as Rubber Cement “Nuns” by Eduardo McLean (1992), winner publicity spot a the Grand Prix film festival in Cannes 1992; “Hotel Room” by Cesc Gai (1998), “Monos como Becky” by Joaquim Jordá (1999) or the last collaborations in 3D movies for imax and movie theatres which allowed him to develop the IMM sound system, bought by Dolby.

In this Master Class, Arqués has explained the proces of sound design creation in fiction and animation, as well as the importance of the conception of a good sound surrounding to  boost the quality of the movie.
