Animation students visit the exhibition ‘The Science of Pixar’ at Cosmocaixa

This week, the 2nd and 4th year students of 2D/3D Animation and Video Games have visited the exhibition The Science of Pixar at Cosmocaixa with the Animation teachers Esteve Garriga, Edu Morales, Miquel Aloy< /strong> and Carolina Novell.

The Science of Pixar is an interactive exhibition carried out in collaboration with the Science Museum of Boston and which has come to Spain for the first time. The main objective of this exhibition is to show how the creative process of Pixar films works together with the technological one and invites you to learn the concepts related to STEM, which stands for Science, Technology, Engineering. and Mathematics with which Pixar Animation Studios uses to create its animated films and its most famous characters.

The interactive tour is divided into eight thematic areas in which the different stages of Pixar’s production are explained. From Modelling, Rigging, Surfaces and Decorations, Scenarios, Animation, Simulation, Lighting or Rendering. In addition, several audiovisuals explained what the daily work of the professionals who are part of this great giant of 3D Animation is like and who have created characters such as Buzz Lightyear, Sulley, Wall-E, Woody or Dory.
