One of the key tools that will allow you to become a design professional is inspiration. Surrounding ourselves with things that inspire us, looking at the work of people who are doing it wonderfully, researching and revisiting the classics will be food for our creativity. And, at the same time, it will allow us to create our own projects that are visually stunning.

Nowadays our main source of inspiration is the internet and, above all, social networks. These spaces have become the new digital portfolio for artists and designers. We share the profiles of 5 designers that will surely inspire you and encourage you to become a designer.

We are Velkro

Independent design studio based in Barcelona, founded in 2019 by two women who fiercely love taking on creative projects and challenges. Although they mainly work in the commercial sector, this team also carries out social projects. And it finds its way to communicate in digital media. They have produced graphic campaigns for clients such as the CCCB, the Generalitat de Catalunya, ROOM2030 and AFRODYSSÉE, among others.

Javier Jaén

He is, without a doubt, one of the most important graphic creatives in the country. His way of transmitting ideas through everyday images, his polished graphic style, his humour and above all his wit make his projects speak for themselves.

He studied Graphic Design and Fine Arts in Barcelona, New York and Budapest. His professional activity focuses on editorial illustration, book covers and cultural communication. His is a symbolic and playful language, which seeks narrative and aesthetic scenarios in close contexts, related to everyday experience. Javier has worked for important clients such as the New York Times, The Washington Post, Time, Harvard University, National Geographic and Almodóvar.

Marta Cerdà

She brings functional beauty and emotion to design, translating each project into an effective and unique design. Her main work focuses on the boundaries between typography and illustration. Although Marta’s style is strongly eclectic, she believes that the separation of these two disciplines into specialized activities is a limitation.

Since 2008, she has worked on global projects requiring art direction, design, illustration and custom typography for clients in the fields of art, culture and advertising. These include Vogue, The Guardian, The Observer, The Zeit, Vanity Fair, El Pais, Gramophone, Elle, Cosmopolitan and Menshealth, among others.

Device

Award-winning international animation and storytelling studio. Their main characteristic is, as they themselves define it, their Multi-Style, a fact that has led them to work on projects of all kinds, creating powerful stories supported by the moving image.

Founded in 2011 by a small group of friends, DEVICE has become one of the most powerful studios in the market. Its clients include Adidas, Spotify, American Express, Primavera Sound and Decathlon.

Gabinete Exquisito

Design studio based in Barcelona specialized in concept development, identity and product design. Most of their projects are born from a very crazy concept with which they manage to have a central idea. They believe that the design perspective or the contribution of the artist/designer should go far beyond the aesthetic attributes of the proposals, but should never leave aside the design and the initial purpose.

Manuel and Maite form this novel project that focuses on imbuing products with art through an exquisite vision of creativity. Their work can be found in clothing, advertising campaigns, animations, lighters and even toys.
